enlightenment arrives
astride a simple word
or sentence, a simple
sight or sound, it steals
in unannounced like
a sudden breeze through
an open window,
like a mouse through
a narrow little void
uninvited, unexpected.
it translates everything,
all at once, in all directions,
past, present and future
retroactively, as suddenly
with a subtle thrill,
we attenuate, and
go about our day...
